What is make:Tulsa?
make:Tulsa is a local, handmade collective run by a juried group of crafters, artists and designers in the Tulsa area.
What does it take to be a member?
First of all, you must live within the 25 miles of Tulsa. You also need a craft business with a web presence, which can be a website, blog, or Etsy shop. All Tulsa Makers are involved in the group as well as the community. We have 11 meetings annually and members are expected to attend 60% and at least one meeting a quarter. In addition, members serve on one of our teams and are active in helping at make:Tulsa sponsored events.
How do I become a member?
make:Tulsa has 2 application periods a year, one in January and one in June. During those periods, the application will be on the make:Tulsa site.
Why do you only let in 25 members?
We really wish we could say yes to everyone, but realistically we can only support 25 business owners in our group and give them the time and care they need. When our group grows too large, members feel disconnected and it can be difficult to maintain direction and offer a place for everyone to fit in. This number gives us a good range and mix of makers and personalities.
We strive to be a tight-knit team that works together to serve the entire craft community by organizing events and supporting others not in our group.
How do I contact you?
Feel free to shoot us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Someone will get back to you as soon as possible.
